論出家
July 12, 2006 4:11 pmToday I met friend who I knew last year during a Buddhist summer camp. Surprisingly he is now a monk which is amazing, so young, so quick. Some deep thinking and a quote about pravraj in Chinese.
夫佛法者，乃九法界公共之法。無一人不當修，亦無一人不能修。持齋念佛者多，推其效則法道興隆，風俗淳善。此則唯恐其不多，愈多則愈美也。至於出家為僧，乃如來為住持法道，與流通法道而設。若其立向上志，發大菩提，研究佛法，徹悟自性，宏三學而偏讚淨土，即一生以頓脫苦輪，此亦唯恐不多，多多則益善也。若或稍有信心，無大志向，欲藉為僧之名，遊手好閒，賴佛偷生。名為佛子，實是髡民。即令不造惡業，已是法之敗種，國之廢人。倘或破戒造業，貽辱佛教。縱令生逃國法，決定死墮地獄。于法於己，兩無所益。如是則一尚不可，何況眾多。古人謂，出家乃大丈夫之事，非將相所能為，乃真語實語，非抑將相而揚僧伽也。良以荷佛家業，續佛慧命。非破無明以復本性，宏法道以利眾生者，不能也。以後求出家者，第一要真發自利利他之大菩提心，第二要有過人天姿，方可薙落。否則不可。至若女人有信心者，即令在家修行，萬萬不可令其出家。恐其或有破綻，則汙敗佛門不淺矣。男若真修，出家更易。以其參訪知識，依止叢林也。女若真修，出家反難。以其動輒招世譏嫌，諸凡難隨己意也。如上揀擇剃度，不度尼僧。乃末世護持佛法，整理法門之第一要義。（正）復謝融脫書二

I tried very very very hard trying to read that. I read out every word, dunno what it means when they are all linked together. Well, you shouldn’t worried about you 出家 for the sake of getting away from everything materialistic. You are probably one of the friends I know who take your religion so seriously. So if you do decide to 出家, I will support your decision because I believe you might learn more about what you believe to be true by 出家. Aiiya, although I might miss having you around. LOL…I know you are not thinking about it. But I can tell you really wanna. So, I have no doubt that one day, you will decide to 出家. I think it will make you more peaceful too…Less stressed from everything 在家. HAHA…Either way, if your heart is towards Buddhism, and trying to know the truth then I think you will benifit from 出家. Although I don’t believe its the best way myself, but I just see that one of these day you will call me up and tell me that you have decided to 出家. So better I give you the supporting vote now. HAHA! Anyway, have fun in HK!
Thank you very much for trying to read the quote, I really should find one in English which is very difficult. I agree with you that 出家 is not for getting away from materialistic world and that’s the wrong reason to do so. Here is a quote for who should:
以后求出家者，第一要真发自利利他之大菩提心，第二要有过人天姿，方可薙落。否则不可。
Requirements are not easy and I don’t think I have meet them yet. Thank you for your support and I believe if times do come, we will know :).

How was your 出家 experience for ur second time? Good? I accidentally broke the screen on my laptop -__- don’t tell my parents…! Sigh…I think its not too bad!
