Linux – Ubuntu on Toshiba Tecra S1

No more Windows for me!

After Terry decided to try out Linux, I have decided to start using it more this weekend. My computer is Toshiba Terca-S1, Centrino 1.5M version with 1.2G RAM, always have Linux installed but didn't use it that much. From dual booting windows and Linux. By the end of the weekend, I have decided to completly get rid of windows. Quite a risky move I have to say, but anyway now I have formatted windows and now I only have Linux running on my laptop. So far I have managed to installed everything I want on it and quite happy with the result. Everything run a lot faster (with my old laptop)! Don't think I need to get a new laptop any more, save a lot of money! Let's see how it goes :D .

FYI: the version I'm using is Ubuntu and it's very well supported. I would recommend this if you also want to try out Linux. Dapper is a very good addon too.

Yes, a very risky move. Just realised something funny, your blog is very engineering related, mine is always about people. I am definately not an engineer!
