I’m from America and this 07970797870 number keeps ringing me. They don’t leave any messages and they inconveniently call when it is VERY early in the morning here in the US. Does anyone know who this number could belong to?

I would answer it, but I can’t imagine the long distance changes I’d incur for answering an unwanted call.

I had a call this afternoon from 01925555601 claiming to be from carphone warehouse he asked me to confurm my name after saying “hello Mr Stratford” He said could I confirm my name first line of my address and postcode , I replied that if he had all my details why should I confirm them and he had phoned me so he must know who I am.This went back and forth for a few minutes and then I said why would I upgrade a phone when I had it only a couple of weeks?
Thanks for this list it makes you more aware of cold calls.

i have tried everything to block spamemrs and 01925244007 still managed to get through. BT won’t reveal the identity of the caller and I am starting a legal action against BT calling on their responsibility as a carrier to protect me from harassment. It seems I will need a court order to get the identity of the guilty party. So, I’ll write more when this comes through.

I was getting lots of these calls a few months back and it was driving me crazy. I complained to BT who put me on a free bar a number service. When you receive a number you don’t recognise you can use the BT service to bar the number all together. The next time they call the phone doesn’t ring. Worth trying, if like me, you’ve been driven mad by this calls!

I’ve been receiving calls from 02920 822637 and 02920 822640 ringing just hours apart … I didn’t answer as I didn’t recognise the number and decided to google it before ringing back. Glad I didn’t ring back! Have now added them both to my ‘reject list’.

I had a call from one of thses numbers a while back – just after i’d had to claim on my house insurance, so im suspecting that maybe where they got it from. Anyway, the number began with 01792 so being from swansea I knew the area code. I answered, thinking it was someone calling from back home. He said that he was calling about a claim and needed more details blah blah, so i asked where he was calling from, to which he replied manchester haha fool i said “hmmm are you sure….coz 01792 is a swansea number….” to which there was a long embarasing silence. I just said “bye” and hung up fool. good to get one over on them sometimes

I had 8 missed calls from01612335844. When I called back from a landline a recorded message said they want me to take part in a Marmite survey. Well, I hate the stuff and told them where to stuff their survey then put the number on thye reject calls list of my mobile. They still kept coming so I googled it and found this very useful site. Thx!

Have been getting missed calls from 02920 822 637, about three a day!!

Thought it may have been contract agencies etc for work, which can be a bit of a pain as I tend to use the same one, but others constantly ring up.

Anyway, just decided to call back after seeing it published on this website..

After a lot of rings it was answered by someone from “Communications Direct” !!

He didn’t get chance to know who I was….now that I know who they are!!

I recieved 2 missed calls from these numbers today 02920 822640 & 02920 822637, 3 hours apart and thought I’d Google them before any response to them, and came up with this page. Thanks for the info I am on vodaphone P.a.y.g. and a very light user so dont need to be flogged a phone package whatever..

I just got a missed call on my mobile from two similar numbers. One of them was 02920 822637, as listed on your site. The other was 02920 822640.

I thought you may wish to put the second one on your page, as I’m sure it’s the same cold calling thing, and it’s not one your site so far.

Wow, there are so many numbers! I got 02920359001 today, I try ring them back its constantly engaged, I work for a phone provider and 95% of these spammers are from the 3 network or companys working on behalf of 3, they are so desperate fpr customers they poach others. The worring thing is, how do they get our details, the only company who should have them is my provider, and I get abuse evryday at work because some company has got there info. Its bloody annoying, but the only thing I can suggest you doing to these people is leading them on in the conversation, its a laugh and they think they are bucks in, so when they ask for your full name, make something funny up, like Iver Biggin, or talk in a foriegn language, then hey will leave you alone =]

Same as Marta (comment written in March 2008), and also from Spain, I have received a call from number 441895204833. I could get to pick up the call on time so I don’t know who was it.
I know 44 is for numbers from the UK but I don’t know anyone there so I have no clue about this phone call.
Does anyone else know anything about this number? Thanks for the information.

One of these callers rang today to offer a £60,000 business loan today. What she didn’t know or overlooked is that the phone is registered in the name of my pet rabbit and she has almost agreed to offer the £60k loan secured on my rabbit’s £140 indoor cage!
