New Photos
August 28, 2006 7:41 pmGreenwich Mean Time
5:31 pmSome more travelling this weekend, went to Greenwich and Tower Hill. I think last time I went to Greenwich was 8 years ago, it's nice to go there again. There is a nice Greenwich park, took some photos and walk to Blackheath Station to take a train to Tower Hill.
At tower hill, just before it started to rain. I managed to take a few shots of the Tower Bridge. The photo taken by the k800i is surprisingly good, have a look at this and see if you agree.

Making some progress at work
August 25, 2006 12:40 amHaven't have a update for the internship for quite a while so here we go. Today after talking to the Nigara guy, I start to work hard and got some results. I started writing the Handel-C library (drivers) for the DE2 board last week and I was able to display some text on the LCD module, controlling the LEDs and getting some data form a PS/2 mouse. The part that I find really hard is to display somethign on a monitor using the VGA out. So today I started off with getting a LCD monitor. After setting everything up, start to program… no clear directions, just trying… And at the end, I was able to display some colour on the screen, well some nice colour pattern with some simple code. Here are some photos of my new workspace, LCD & 7 Segment display and the nice colour pattern output.
Click on the images above to see more photos. The longer I spent doing this, I start to really enjoy working on this project :D.

The Poor and the Rich
12:23 amI would like to talk about two things that happened today. One is that I talked to a guy from Nigara and the other is a update of my intership. Let's talk about the guy from Nigara first.
The part of how I start talking to him is not important as I'm sure there are many people like him in London. He told me he came from Nigara a year ago, wanting to study in the UK after he graduated in Nigara but unable to find a job. I tried very hard and spent a long time earning enough money and get a student Visa to come to UK. He applied to one of the University and got accepted however he don't have enough money to pay the fee. So he had to take a year out to earn enough money so that he can study. He is working 17 hours a day and only get 3 hours of sleep. And the worse thing is his parents think he is in a "Paradise", and many people in Nigara really wants to come here. But they don't know that he is working so hard just to survive. He also told me that this is already nothing to him as he had to work a lot harder in Nigara. And that the government is so rich but don't care about their people. I can really see suffering in his eye but he is managing well, he knows he have to be strong.
I have always know that there are many people like him around me, but it means a lot more when I see one in front of my eye. I suddenly just feel so lucky which I start to forget when everything is going well. I really hope he can find what he wants in life, afterall working and earning big money is not the aim of life! for me anyway. It's so difficult to be human and so hope all of us can treasure this life and make the best out of it. Do whatever we can now to help others and ourselves and don't regret when it's too late. We never know what will happen tomorrow (Impermanence)!

A Weekend walking around London
August 22, 2006 6:01 pmQuite a few things that I like about working, mainly earning some money and get the weekend off. So we spent a day walking around London, the first time I really get to try out the camera on the k800i and used up the 64MB on it.
We set off at Earls Court at noon to Piccadilly Circus. Went to LillyWhites and got a weird bag as my old one is broken which actually lasted for 7 years I think. The bags that they were selling were very good quality and most of them were 70% off. So I picked a Karrimor one with "airspace". And one of the reason why I picked this one is because of the "airspace", I also think that it's very well Engineered. Everything have been thought of. For example, Kamil said it's a "unsymetrical bag", and yes one side has a space for bottle and the other doesn't where it has a space for the walking stick instead. many other things… and here is a picture of the "airspace" which is decided to keep our back cool.
That's enough about the bag! Next we walk to Trafalgar Square, not the first time there but this time it's quite interesting. There are more people there than usual and all looking up on to the sky…
So what are they looking at??? Find out here
Then we walked to the Scotland Yard, it's quite cool that no one or car is there :D.
Keep walking and walking, cross the River Thames see the LondonEye, Big Ben…
Everything is about the same, then we saw a space for board skating and BMX right next to the Thames at Waterloo, that really surprise me! Also note that there is a CCTV on the top.
Not a very good photo, but show guy at the back graffiti at the back. Then there was a Capital Old Age Festival which was quite interesting, some people singing, dancing… Lastly we have Tate Modern before my phone went out of batter and memory. Quite a nice building.
I think somehow I have make it sounds quite boring, but it was actually quite a interesting day :D. Here is more photos for you, and have a look at Kamil's blog on this, it's more interesting :).

August 17, 2006 12:47 am【三法印】- The three evidences of the genuineness of a sutra. The three signs or proofs of a Hinayana sutra— non-permanence, non-personality (anatta, non-self), nirvana; without these the sūtra is spurious and the doctrine is of Mara;
- 諸行無常是說一切世間法無時不在生住異滅中,過去有的,現在起了變異,現在有的,將來終歸幻滅;
- 諸法無我是說在一切有為無為的諸法中,無有我的實體;
