念佛不分聖凡。聖指三乘，即聲聞，緣覺，菩薩。凡指六道，即天，人，阿修羅，畜生，餓鬼，地獄。但天以樂故，不能念者多。三途以苦故，不能念者更多。修羅以瞋故，亦不能念。惟人最易念。而富貴之人，便被富貴所迷。聰明人，以聰明迷。愚癡人，以愚癡迷。芸芸眾生，能念佛者，有幾人哉。既知此義，當勇猛修持，勿致欲念而不能念，則不負此生此遇矣。
